At the invitation of Chargé d’Affaires, John s. Creamer, the American Benevolent Society (ABS), celebrated 151 years of servicing our community at the US Ambassador's Residence.

ABS Members were treated to a delightful reception with drinks and hors d'oeuvre where they had the opportunity to meet and mingle with many of the ABS board members and executive committee.

Following the adjournment of the annual board meeting, the Herbert L. Wallace Community Service Award was presented to Sandy Ochoa and her husband Felipe, in recognition of their dedication to ABS's mission and their decades of philanthropic work.

Don't Forget To Register To Vote!

Voter Registration rules are dictated by the State in which the voter wishes to vote.  All US Citizens requesting an absentee ballot to be sent to a foreign country, must register in the year of the election no matter what happened before. i.e  voters from abroad MUST register to vote even if they were previously registered to vote in the US. Make sure to register and request your absentee ballot  with ample time to insure your vote is counted!  These requests should be made by mid August.  The regular postal system is NOT recommended.  Requests and the ballots can be sent from the ABS using their mailing service for a modest fee.

Call ABS at 5540/5123 for information or help on how to register to vote and request your ballot, or visit:  https://www.votefromabroad.org/
